The position of the governor was made known by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, in a statement he issued to newsmen on Wednesday.

The congratulatory message was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, on Friday.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Kula Tersoo, at a press conference in Makurdi on Wednesday, the governor alleged that a series of protests recently held in Abuja were sponsored by political detractors aiming to mislead the public and create chaos in Benue State.

The motion was proposed by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Sam Ode, who pointed out the importance of the resolution amid growing political and social challenges, notably the escalating security issues in the state. 

Vice President Shettima is expected to arrive in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, around 10am for a one-day state visit.

Governor Alia gave the appreciation at the Government House, Makurdi, on Thursday, August 15th, 2024, while receiving the UNHCR delegation in the state.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, revealed this in a statement he issued to the media on Friday.

This is as the governor lamented that the bandits were homegrown and had taken up arms to kill their own.

Governor Alia stated this at the Arewa House in Kaduna on Thursday.

He said he is ready and willing to continue to provide the necessary support needed by the security agencies.

The Governor also came up with adequate plans to open up the rural areas to enable rural economies to thrive.

Alia stated this at a reception for members of the Conference of Benue Journalists on Sunday in Makurdi.
