Justice Obiora Egwuatu made the order after counsel to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Ebenezer Shogunle, prayed for an award of a fine in favour of one of the commission’s witnesses, who travelled from Ibadan, Oyo State to testify in the money laundering trial.
Justice Obiora Egwuatu, who granted Ojerinde’s prayer after taking the arguments of counsel for the parties in the matter, said one of the sureties must be a professor in a federal university.
Justice Obiora Egwuatu declined the oral application for bail by counsel to the defendant, P.O Olorunishola, SAN, after the ICPC lawyer, Ebenezer Shogunle, opposed the submission.
Azuka Ogugua, ICPC spokesperson, in a statement, on Wednesday, in Abuja, said Ojerinde was arrested on March 15, in Abuja, by operatives of the commission.
