NiMet disclosed this in a Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday that the central states would experience localized thunderstorms over the region with day and night temperatures of between 28 to 33 and 20 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
It added that thunderstorms were expected over the region later in the day with day and night temperatures in the range of 23 to 29 and 17 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
In a statement in Asaba on Thursday, Sam Ijeh, the Media Assistant to the Commissioner for Information, said the government’s action followed the warning by Nigerian Meteorological Agency that 16 states, including Delta, would experience heavy flooding within the year.
