It is quite unbelievable that in this 21st century people are still talking about the repulsive and retrogressive act of killing other human beings for religious reasons. Yes, it is most unfortunate that when the rest of the world is moving on with massive infrastructural and human development, innovative and progressive laws that include expunging capital punishment from their laws, in Nigeria people are still thinking of decapitating a citizen just for singing against their religion. Is this not disgusting and shameful?
Ize-Iyamu, who was earlier presented with the flag for Edo State governorship election by President Muhammadu Buhari, was accompanied to the vice president’s office by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State.
Abba Anwar, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, quoted Ganduje as saying this in a statement on Saturday in Kano.
It said: “The PDP and indeed the people of Edo state are already aware that the trio were selected by the APC to lead its campaign so as to force a combined formula of Kano and Kogi electoral violence as well as Imo state mandate robbery to subvert the will of the people of Edo state in the governorship election.”
