The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has condemned the killing of Deborah Atanda, a female student of Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), demanding Justice for her death.

The Ekiti State Police Command, on Thursday, said it had arrested 10 suspects in connection with the death of a student of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Modupe Deborah.

His lecture was entitled: ” Linguistics and Languages as Scientific tools for Nation Building” and with it, he explained how the two fields of study could help in nation building, particularly, in the area of combating violent and immoral acts such as terrorism, kidnapping, cultism, prostitution and hooliganism which unfortunately hold sway in the country today.
He also said linguistics and languages should new seen as scientific tools for nation building.
The FUOYE Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, described the inclusion of FUOYE among the list of the federal universities allegedly planning hike in tuition fees as “strange.”
It was the 11th matriculation ceremony of the institution which was organised by the University Ceremonial Committee chaired by Prof. Tajudeen Opoola and which comprises deans of the faculties, as well as other officials of the university.
