The business was nominated in the award category alongside other top organisations such as International Breweries Limited, Jumia Nigeria, LaFarge Nigeria PLC, Nestle Nigeria PLC, PZ Cussons Nigeria PLC, and Sterling Bank PLC.
The donation, according to the leading miller, forms part of its corporate social investment drive to give back to its community, especially the vulnerable. The visit to the Children’s Village was part of the flour milling firm’s series of activities lined up to mark the 2021 World Food Day (WFD) themed: “Our actions are our future – Better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life.”
The company made this assertion on March 9, 2021 when its senior management paid a courtesy visit on the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, at the Government House in Kano to explore areas of opportunity, partnership and collaboration between the company and the state government.
This plan was revealed when the Wheat Development Team of Crown flour Mill, led by Damilola Adeniyi, the Corporate Affairs Manager, and Moshood Quadri, Head Human Resources, along with other senior management staff of the company went on a courtesy visit to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, in his office on February 23, 2021 in Abuja.
