Suspected cultists have ambushed and killed Onaopemipo Lawal, a member of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee headed by Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.
The deceased, popularly known as Ariku, was hacked to death on Sunday in Owode area of Mile 12, Lagos State.
According to a video seen by The Eagle Online and several reports, Lawal was brutally hacked to death.
Vanguard Newspaper quoted Akinsaya’s media aide, Buhari Jimoh, as confirming the incident.
The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hudenyin, also confirmed the crisis in the area.
Hundeyin said more police operatives had been deployed to the area.
He said: “The command is aware of the violent clash going on at Owode-Elede area of the state.
“DPO (Divisional Police Officer) Owode-Onirin is handling the situation.
“Reinforcement has been readied.
“We are monitoring the situation.”
