Southern Kaduna killings: Senator seek establishment of IDPs Camp

Senator Danjuma La’ah representing Southern Kaduna Zone in the Senate is seeking the establishment of Internal Displace Persons camp in the area to cater for people displaced due to killings by suspected herdsmen.
La’ah made the request during plenary on Wednesday through personal explanation, citing order 43 of the Senate rule.
He said: “I am disappointed on the level of killings by herdsmen in my constituency.
“I am pleading with this Senate to help in setting up IDPs camp in the area to cater for people who have been displaced from various communities in Southern Kaduna.”
In his ruling, the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, urged the senator to bring a motion to enable the matter be properly discussed in the Senate.
Several persons have been reported killed by suspected herdsmen in five Local Government Areas, with some communities now deserted in Southern Kaduna.
