The remains of Dr. Rabe Nasir, the Katsina State Commissioner of Science and Technology, who was killed by yet-to-be identified people, have been laid to rest.
The late Commissioner’s body was interred at Gidan Dawa cemetery in Katsina on Friday after a funeral prayer.
The funeral prayer took place shortly after the Juma’at prayer at GRA Juma’at mosque, and was led by the Chief Imam of the mosque, Dr. Aminu Abdullahi.
Governor Aminu Masari and a Federal Government delegation, led by the National Security Adviser to President Muhammad Buhari, retired General Babagana Mongunu, were some of the dignitaries who attended the funeral prayer.
Special prayers were offered at the mosque for the repose of the soul of late Nasir and the security of the nation.
The delegation was earlier at the Katsina State Government house to condole with the Governor and the immediate family of the deceased.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that late Nasir was brutally murdered on Wednesday in his residence located at Fatima Shema Estate, Katsina metropolis by yet-to-be-identified assailants.
