Seven soldiers, 30 civilians killed in Borno

No fewer than 37 persons, including seven soldiers, were killed on Monday in Maiduguri, Borno State in the continued battle against terror unleashed by dreaded sect, Boko Haram.
A bomb reportedly went off during a patrol by officers and men of the Joint Task Force in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, resulting, initially, in the death of a lieutenant in the team.
This was said to have infuriated the soldiers who went on a shooting spree, killing at least 30 civilians.
Six others persons in military uniforms were said to have been killed during the battle that followed.
The bodies of the dead were deposited at the Umaru Shehu Hospital in Maiduguri.
Spokesman of the JTF in Borno State, Sagir Musa, confirmed the development.
Musa, however, said he did not have the casualty figure as at press time.
