The National Orientation Agency has called on all Nigerians to turn the second stanza of the National Anthem into a daily prayer so as to unite the country.
The NOA also said the stanza has the capacity to tackle religious crisis among different faithful across the country.
The Adamawa State Director of the Agency, Alhaji Ahmed Sudi Abba, said this while fielding questions from newsmen in Yola, the state capital.
Abba said the agency at state level had already embarked on an advocacy campaign, which started with Media Executives, on the need for the media to support the agency to achieve its set goals as directed by the Federal Government.
He explained that the second stanza of the National Anthem will also bring to an end the religious crisis bedivelling the country, especially among the followers of the two major religions of Islam and Christianity.
According to him, it has been observed whenever one among the two believers is offering prayer at an official event, the other one will be busy with the mobile phone or ignore it.
Abba, however, disclosed that already, about four states have started using the second stanza of the National Anthem as a unity prayer.
The states are Niger, Benue, Nasarawa and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He therefore called on the Adamawa State Government to apply it to maintain the peaceful coexistence in the state.
The NOA State Director, while commenting on the removal of petroleum subsidy and the increment of pump price, said considering the economic situation of the nation, which is very critical, the government has no option than to take the step.
Abba added that before achieving the set objectives of the Change Mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, there is the need for attitudinal change among people.
He therefore urged Nigerians to support the government in that direction.
