In line with his mandate to end youth unemployment in Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki has commenced a one-week sensitisation programme for beneficiaries of the premier employment scheme in 2014.
The 500 beneficiaries of the employment scheme were drawn from the Youth Unemployment Summit held on December 9, 2013, where the senator had a thorough head to head interactive session with unemployed youths in the state.
Speaking on Wednesday at the sensitisation programme, the Director of Youths, Alhaji Nasirn Subair, who inaugurated the sensitisation process on behalf of Saraki, said since the actualisation of the summit on December 9, 2013, there has been a consistent effort to ensure that all youths present are empowered in their choices of trade, thereby launching them into the working force.
The beneficiaries have started submitting their business plans based on their respective choices.
Nasir added: “This sensitisation, which has commenced today being Wednesday 15th of January will come to an end on Wednesday 22nd of January, after which all registered beneficiaries will be trained and fully empowered.”
