Rangers’ Technical Adviser wants live coverage for NPFL matches

Olugbenga Ogunbote, Technical Adviser of Rangers International FC of Enugu, has called for live coverage of Nigeria Professional Football matches to ensure sanity.
Ogunbote made the call in Enugu on Thursday while interacting with Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Enugu chapter.
He said: “The Nigerian league has come of age and there are many people who cannot afford the time and money to watch their clubs.
“It will make much sense if each matches of the league will be televised for people to watch their clubs for easy judgment on their performance.
“Viewing matches will equally reduce the work load of the league organisers as all the rules and regulations of the game will be observed by the participants.’’
The coach also expressed joy with Rangers players’ performances so far in the season, saying that they have been able to withstand the storm of not starting the league on a brighter note.
On the club wining matches at home with one goal margin, Ogbubote said that three points is more important than goals at this stage of the league.
He said: “We may not understand the importance of these lone goals in a match at home until the end of the season.
“Although, we are working audaciously to ensure that we win each match but when the goals come in numbers, the club will be happy.’’
Ogunbote said that Rangers will soon reclaim their position but noted that some clubs were still occupying it at the moment and would soon relinquish it to the rightful owner.
On goalkeeping department, the tactician said that Rangers had four professional goalkeepers in its ranks and that the essence was for the club to stand tall in all situations.
Ogunbote said: “At times, some players may be called up for national assignments and as the league progresses other goalkeepers will have their chance.
“Femi Thomas mans the goal post for now and tomorrow Nana Bonsu may take over and it will extend to others and what we need is understanding and patience.’’
The Enugu SWAN Chairman, Norbert Okolie, who also doubles as Rangers Medial Officer, thanked Ogunbote for finding time to interact with SWAN members.
He urged the coach to always do so in appreciation of SWAN’s contribution to the club.
Okolie urged the association’s members to always give a good reportage of the club’s activities.
