President Buhari approves reconstitution of the Board of the National Directorate of Employment
Following the expiration of the tenure of the former Board of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reconstitution of the new Board.
This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by the president’s spokesman, Garba Shehu.
Members of the board, according to the statement, are Festus Keyamo, SAN, who is the Chairman (As statutorily provided for Supervising Ministers of the Agency);. Chris J. Maiyaki, representing the National Universities Commission; Mallam Lawal Y. Hafiz, representing the National Board for Technical Education and Prince Tony Omoaghe.
Others are Obiageli B. Orah; Yamah Patience J., representing the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Didi Walson-Jack, representing the Federal Ministry of Water Resources; Mohammed Ndadoko, representing the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment Industry; Dr. Yerima P. Terfa, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment; Rasaq Bello-Osagie and Olubunmi Osuntuyi, representing the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association.
Comrade Amechi Asugwuni, representing the Nigeria Labour Congress is a member. So also are Collins Iriferi Umukoro; Andrew Obukohwo Egunoma and Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, the Director-General of National Directorate of Employment.
The statement added that the Board will be inaugurated by the Supervising Minister of the NDE, and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, on a date to be communicated to all appointees.
Their appointment is for a period of four years.
