The death has occurred of a popular Kano-based Hausa artiste, Alhaji Sani Dan Indo.
Aged 55, Danindo, a popular Kalangu musician, died at his personal residence at Tamburawa village in Dawakin-Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State.
One of his sons, Zubairu Dan-Indo, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano on Monday that the deceased fell sick shortly after he returned from a night show on Sunday night.
Zubairu said before then, his father was hale and hearty.
NAN reports that the deceased had wide following as he remained of the most popular Hausa musicians before his death.
Late Dan-Indo became a household name during the administration of late General Sani Abacha.
An indigene of Sokoto State, Dan-Indo had made Kano his second home.
He left behind a wife and six children.
He was buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
