The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Senator Victor Lar, has officially declared his aspiration to run for governorship in the 2015 election in Plateau State.
Lar, who stormed the state secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party on Friday in company with major stakeholders of the party in the state, called on the electorate to “shine their eyes” and support a credible candidate in the next dispensation.
Lar was received by the Chairman of the central zone of the PDP, Yusuf Tokit, on behalf of the state’s acting Chairman, Raymond Dabo, assured residents of adequate security measures to ensure a hitch free campaign in all the 17 local government areas of the state.
“Security measures have been put in place to ensure that crime is reduced to the barest minimum during the period,” Lar said.
He urged residents to be security conscious wherever they are.
He emphasised that justice and equity would be the anchor of his seven point agenda.
He said if elected in 2015, the people of the state will witness fresh and renewed policies that can transform the lives of an average person.
Lar commended the efforts of Governor Jonah Jang in putting in place very solid security architecture, adding: “We have all the logistics to work with.
“We have all the enablement and we have all the support.
“All we need to do is to work hard to ensure that this state is peaceful and open to investments and continues to serve as a meeting point where every Nigerian will have a sense of belonging.”
