Bashir Ibrahim, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Movement, has emerged the National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council.
In an election conducted on Friday at the National Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja, Ibrahim polled 14 votes to defeat his closest rival, Peter Ameh, who had 13 votes.
Ameh is the outgoing National Secretary of IPAC.
In his acceptance speech, Ibrahim promised to build a strong, influential and credible organization similar to other IPACs all over the world.
“I will do my best to justify the confidence repose on me,” he promised.
The position of National Secretary was won by Godson Okoye, who is the National Chairman of the United Democratic Party.
The position of Publicity Secretary was won by Chief Dike Oghefi, who polled 14 votes to defeat Agbo Major with 13 votes.
