Pandemonium as NSCDC official kills mother of four

There was pandemonium in Lagos State at the weekend after an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps attached to the Lagos State Command, shot and killed a mother of four.
Eyewitnesses claimed that problem started after some officials of the NSCDC stormed Saponkoji Village near Ogogoro village (an Island) in Apapa area of the metropolis in search of suspected pipeline vandals and illegal oil dealers and started firing sporadically.
Residents were said to have scampered for safety but luck ran out on one Angelina Dansu when the officials arrested her in her shed where she was selling kerosene.
It was further gathered that Dansu was striped and beaten up by the NSCDC officials and when she attempted to run away, was allegedly shot on her lap.
An NSDSC source said immediately the woman was shot, the officials took to their heels for fear of being attacked by the villagers.
The mother of four was said to have bled to death when nobody came to her rescue.
The woman’s husband, identified as Paul, who was not present when the incident occurred, said that he was told when he returned home that his wife was shot dead by NSCDC officials.
While denying that his wife was not into pipeline vandalism, the grieving man said his wife bought the kerosene with her money from a filling station and was retailing the product.
According to him, he wanted police authority to probe the murder of his wife.
His words: “I was told they striped my wife naked and beat her up before shooting her.
“She was equally abandoned without being rushed to the nearest hospital.
“This is why I’m calling on the Police to fish out my wife’s killers.
“She was not doing any illegal business.”
