Chief Ralph Nwosu, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure a free, fair and credible governorship election in Osun.
Nwosu made the call on Wednesday in Osogbo at the presentation of the party’s flag to its candidate, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade.
The chairman said Akinbade’s political pedigree as a grassroots politician would ensure his victory in the September 22 election.
In his remarks, Akinbade said that the large turnout was “evidence that the people were yearning for a change at the helms of affairs in the state”.
He promised to offer a high qualify leadership that would inspire all round development in the state if he emerged the governor.
Nwosu said: “Our party, ADC, is determined to provide an alternative platform to the people of the state.
“As true democrats, we are committed to providing a strong and formidable platform for true development and progress of our state for the benefit of all.”
Also speaking, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a national leader of the party, appealed to the electorate not to sell their votes during the election.
Oyinlola, a fomer governor of the state, said the party was sure of victory at the poll.
Kazeem Adio, the ADC Chairman in the state, said the party would focus on agriculture and infrastructural development if it emerged victorious.
