Omo-Agege presides over plenary seven months after election as Deputy Senate President

The Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, on Thursday presided over plenary for the first time seven months after his election.
Omo-Agege was elected as Deputy Senate President, but had not been able to preside over plenary a session over allegation of stolen mace at the eight Senate.
He was accused by some lawmakers that he led some hoodlums to the chamber to take away the Senate’s mace.
The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, had started plenary session before he paved the way for Omo-Agege to preside over plenary.
Some Senators were excited seeing Omo-Agege in the saddle of the Senate for the first time in seven months.
Senator James Manager could not hide his excitement, saying it was good to see Omo-Agege in the saddle.
