Operatives of the Anti-robbery team attached to the CMS Police Station, Bariga, Lagos State on February 8, 2013 made major arrests when they stormed House 16, Olaoluwa Street, off Odunsi, Bariga.
The operatives arrested one Femi, also known as scorpion, a notorious hemp dealer, said to be a robbery kingpin and also receiver of stolen goods.
Though Femi and others escaped that fateful day after they were arrested, the police equally arrested one Mohammed Ahmed, 23.
Upon his arrest, Ahmed allegedly confessed he had one loaded locally made double barrel gun, two live cartridges, machetes, police baton, army uniform and beret allegedly belonging to Femi and another gang member he identified as Femi Adetunde, also alleged to be an hemp dealer.
The police arrested Femi Adetunde in his house the next day while he was sleeping at Oyetunde Street, Bariga.
It was gathered that Femi led the attack against one Inspector Smart Osadolor attached to the Bariga Police Station last year, which led to the killing of one Banji.
Osadolor was said to have been wounded with a gun when Femi allegedly led the attack on him.
According to the police, Femi’s gang also confessed to series of crimes at Bariga.
The suspects have been transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad at Ikeja for further investigation.
