Two soldiers were allegedly killed on Sunday night during a robbery operation at the Apapa area of Lagos State.
A third soldier was said to have received bullet wound on his leg during the incident, which took place about 11pm.
It was gathered that the robbers used an unidentified foreigner to gain entry into the house of their victim, said to also be a foreigner.
The robbery incident took place just a stone throw to the Command Guest House of the Nigerian Army at Apapa.
The soldiers responded to the gunshots from the victim’s house but the bandit opened fire, killing two of them on the spot.
The robbers, it was gathered, went on to rob occupants of the house while they made away with the victim”s vehicle.
The robbers also abandoned the metallic grey Honda car, with registration number GJ435 LSR, they brought to the scene of the robbery.
It was gathered that mobile policemen engaged the robbers in a gun battle but the robbers escaped.
There has been no official response from the Nigerian Army on the incident.
