Nigerians commend Naval Officers as they engage in fitness exercise

Some members of the public on Saturday commended the men and officers of the Naval Training Command during their quarterly 10km walk, saying it showed they were fit to defend the nation.
The two-hour walk, which had no fewer than 600 officers participating, commenced at the Naval Base, Apapa, Lagos State.
Some of the members of the public who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria said seeing the naval officers perform the exercise showed that they were fit and combat ready  anytime.
A lady who simply identified herself as Amirat said she was marvelled with the way the officers and men from the Nigerian Navy participated in the exercise.
She said her respect for the force had increased, adding that they carried themselves with charisma and dignity.
Amirat said: “I have been seeing this people but never in large number.
“I was marvelled by what I saw, they really wowed me.
“How the citizens respected them also marvelled me, I was just smiling within me.”
Daniel Aiyegbeni said the way the force carried themselves was worth commending.
Aiyegbeni said: “I want to appreciate the Navy because they always carry themselves with such charisma.
“There is this quality about them that makes people respect them.
“I wish I could join the Force but I guess it’s too late.”
Ismaila Olorunrinu also said he was impressed with what he saw, adding that he would not forget it.
“What I saw increased my respect for them, I doff my hat to them,” Olorunrinu said
An anonymous onlooker also said seeing the Force engage in such an exercise had given the citizens the strong belief that they were fit and agile to protect the populace.
