Nigeria’s two representatives in the Confederations Cup – Warri Wolves and Heartland FC – have crashed out.
Both teams lost out today.
While Warri Wolves lost to Black Leopard of South Africa by two goals to nil, Heartland lost by a goal to two to Leopard of Congo Brazzaville.
The losses made nonsense of the wins recorded by both teams in their first led matches.
Warri Wolves won the first leg in Warri 3-1 while Heartland defeated their opponent 3-2 in Owerri.
However, it was good news for Nigeria in the Champions League as Sunshine FC qualified for the group stage.
Sunshine defeated Djoliba of Mali 1-0 in a match in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State this evening.
The team had earlier played a draw in Bamako with Djoliba two weeks ago.
