The Odeda Division of the Ogun State Police Command has reported a serious incident of defilement involving a minor on March 1, 2025 at about 11am.
Orile-Ilugun Police Outstation received a distress call from 20-year-old Alaba Abdullahi regarding her three-year-old daughter.
Abdullahi reported that Muniru Haruna, a 25-year-old man residing in the same area, allegedly committed the act while the victim was playing nearby.
The incident was discovered when the mother heard her child crying and quickly went to investigate, only to find her daughter emerging from the suspect’s room in evident distress.
Upon further examination, it was revealed that the victim had difficulty walking and exhibited signs of physical trauma.

Abdullahi immediately sought assistance, and both the victim and the suspect were transported to General Hospital, Odeda for a medical examination and necessary treatment.
Medical forms were issued, and the police await the doctor’s results.
Haruna has been taken into custody, but he denied the allegations against him.
The case was referred to the Division Crime Branch for investigation and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran upon completion of the preliminary inquiry.
Reacting to the development, the spokesperson of the Command and a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP Omolola Odutola, said: “We take these allegations very seriously and are committed to ensuring justice for the victim.
“The safety and well-being of our community, especially children, remain top priority for Ogun State Police Command.
“We urge anyone with additional information regarding this incident to come forward and assist law enforcement.
“Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.”
