The Muslim Community in National Assembly on Tuesday signed contract to build N287 million mosque within ten months.
The contract which was signed at the Senate wing of National Assembly witnessed Senator Ibrahim Shekarau who is the Chairman of Building Committee, Senator Danjuma Goje among other lawmakers in attendance.
The contract will be handled by Besthomes Construction Ltd.
Speaking about the finance of the mosque, Senator Shekarau said the mosque will be funded by the Muslims Community in the National Assembly and other well wishers outside the National Assembly.
Justifying the construction of the mosque, Shekarau said the place currently used by the Muslims in the National Assembly is not enough to accommodate the worshipers, adding a land was also allocated to Christian Community in the National Assembly premises.
