Civil servants indicted in the ongoing probe of the management of pension funds and who have been arraigned in court have been suspended by the Federal Civil Service Commission.
The suspension, which takes effect from March 29, was announced via a statement on Thursday by Deputy Director, (Press and Public Relations), Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Tope Ajakaiye.
Those suspended are Permanent Secretary, Atiku Kigo; Director, Ahmed Wada; Assistant Director, JohnYusuf; a Cashier, Veronica Onyegbula; and ICT Officer, Sani Zira.
The civil servants were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before a FCT High Court on March 29 on a 16-count criminal charge of conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and diversion of N32.8 billion public funds that belongs to the Police Pension Fund.
