Akure, the capital of Ondo State, was in a celebratory mood on Sunday as the state Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko was sworn-in for a second term.
Guests came in from all the geopolitical zones of the country to grace the occasion.
The Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji; the acting Governor of Taraba State, Tanko Almakura; the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi; and the Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, were in attendance as well as the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade.
Former governors Ayo Fayose (Ekiti) and Adebayo Alao-Akala (Oyo) were also present.
Mimiko promised that there will be a synergy between government and the people.
The governor was re-elected for another term during the October 21, 2012 Ondo State governorship election when the Labour Party candidate defeated the other aspirants by polling 260,199 of the total valid votes, claiming a landslide victory in 12 local government areas out of the 15 in the state.
