The Lagos State Police Command on Monday paraded a suspected armed robber, whose gang robbed passengers along the Benin-Shagamu Expressway on New Year’s Eve.

Braide said that the gang robbed passengers aboard the transport company’s bus that conveyed passengers during the just-concluded festival.
She said: “A Rapid Respond Squad police patrol at the boundary between Lagos and Ogun at Berger saw the bus and suspected that something was wrong.
“The policemen chased the bus and intercepted it at Otedola Bridge, near Lagos old toll gate.
“The suspect, who was the driving the bus, also claimed to be a sculpture, was arrested, while five others escaped.
“One improvised bullet proof made from sack bag was recovered.
“The suspect claimed that he was to dump the bus at Jibowu.
“The suspect claimed he only used the improvised bullet proof, torchlight and carved wooden gun wrapped with black cellotape to rob passengers.”
Braide said that the police were after those at large, stressing that the arrested suspect would soon be charged to court.
