Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, has extended his condolences to the Inspector General of Police, Alhaji M.D. Abubakar, over the killings of some policemen in Nasarrawa State in the course of their legitimate duty of protection of lives and properties.
Spesaking from Cairo, Egypt, where he is participating in the Confederation of Africa Football workshop, the Coach said the IGP needs more encouragement and support in his war against violence and criminality.
Keshi said: “I am reaching out to the IGP because he has lost not just men and officers but his trusted foot soldiers in the battle against criminality.
“It is a challenging time for him and he needs the prayers and support of all men of goodwill.”
Keshi described the killings as shocking.
He further prayed the Almighty God to condole and strengthen the IGP and indeed the entire men and officers of the Police Force, who have lost more than professional colleagues and especially their mourning families.
Keshi said: “My heart also goes out to the families they left behind.
“May the Almighty God strengthen and condole them, Amen.”
