Villareal CF of Spain of Spain striker, Ikechukwu Uche, has expressed his readiness to return into the Super Eagles’ fold after he was left out of the squad for a period of 10 months.
Uche, who is back to top form in Spain after a horrific Nations Cup in January, believes his new discovered form will earn him a place in the national team.
“The World Cup is a big stage which every player dream of and I’m not an exception to that. I believe If I’m consistent with my performance at Villarreal, I will be considered but that depends on what the coach wants.
“However, I still want to focus on my day job and I know I’ll have options,” he said.
In recent weeks, Uche is living his best since his arrival at Villarreal.
The Nigerian striker, based on goals and good performances, has earned the title in a team, which highlights the stiff competition for a place in the attack.
The former Zaragoza forward will contend with Fenebache of Turkey star, Emmanuel Emenike, Shola Ameobi, Obinna Nsofor, Victor Moses and Bright Dike for the national team’s striking role if he is considered good enough for a recall into the team.
Uche, with 18 goals to his credit, is tied with Seattle Sounders pacy striker, Obafemi Martins, as the fourth best scorer in the history of the Super Eagles.
Meanwhile, the player is focused on Sunday ‘s game against Levante.
“I have to bring the same work and goals, which is what I ask. I’m checking and want to continue, but the first thing is to think that the team continues to get good results as in recent days,” he stated.
