The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), has commenced the sensitisation of schools in Kano State to catch them young on how to demystify figures.
The Chairman of Kano District Society of ICAN, Alhaji Abdullahi Shehu, said this on Wednesday while conducting a health walk to mark the World International Accountant’s Day at Murtala Mohammed Library, Kano.
Shehu said that every Nov.10 had been set aside to celebrate accountants.
According to him, ICAN is key to budget preparation and implementation.
“Today we are celebrating three million accountants globally.
“It is a day to project 53, 000 ICAN members’ invaluable contributions to national development.
“We are walking from Murtala Mohammed Library to Ahmadu Bello Way, through Daula Hotel to Race course.
“Accountants are invaluable assets to organisations and the entire economy,” he said.
The chairman added that during the week, they would also visit Nasarawa Children’s Home, Kano, to support them.
