Gunmen attack police anti-robbery headquarters

Gunmen on Monday morning attacked the headquarters of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The gunmen, suspected to be members of dreaded sect, Boko Haram, engaged policemen on duty at the SARS headquarters in a shootout reported to have lasted several hours.

It could not be confirmed as at press time if there were casualties.

Members of the dreaded sect were also believed to be behind Sunday’s attack on Saint Andrew’s Protestant Church within the premises of the Command and Staff College, Jaji in Kaduna State.

Eleven persons were killed and 30 injured during the Jaji attack.
