The Organizing Committee for Alimosho Day 2024 has announced the date for the community celebration, to be graced by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his Deputy and dignitaries.

The annual event, the statement indicated, is to feature an array of activities designed to empower youth, showcase talent, promote health and celebrate the vibrant cultural heritage of Alimosho – one of the 20 local government areas in Lagos State, South West, Nigeria.
The celebration which will be under the leadership of Baale of Alimosho, High Chief Jamiu Babalola Ogunwale, will offer a rich parade of events that highlight the community’s spirit and resilience.
“We are honoured to host Alimosho Day 2024, a testament to our community’s resilience and unity. The diverse lineup of events highlights our commitment to nurturing talent, promoting wellness, and celebrating our shared cultural identity,” remarked Baale of Alimosho, High Chief Jamiu Babalola Ogunwale.
The commemorative events marking Alimosho Day 2024 slated for August 12 to 24 include: Youth Empowerment Trainings with workshops in digital marketing, Talent Hunt, Medical Outreach and Symposium under the theme: ‘‘Empowering the Upcoming Generation with Required Technical Training in The Global Market.’’
The grand finale on August 24 will culminate in an evening of celebration with certificate presentations, awards, a book launch and cultural performances showcasing Alimosho’s rich diversity.
Among the notable guests expected to grace the occasion are: The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu; his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa; Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals.
Others are: former Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule, Senator representing Lagos West; Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Senator representing Ogun West; Adewale Sonaike, Deputy Managing Director of Business Development and International Business at Courteville Business Solutions Plc; Folake Soetan, Chief Executive Officer of Ikeja Electric Plc.

Also to grace the grand ceremony are: His Royal Majesty Oba Hammed Arẹmu Adeyemi, Elegbeda of Egbeda and Ọbà Lasisi Gbadebo Gbadamosi, Onigando of Igando.
Akeweje of Alimosho, Chief Jamiu Shotayo Tadeyo noted: “Alimosho, the largest local government in Nigeria and Lagos State, is a vibrant hub of cultural diversity and youthful energy. With a population of 1,319,571 in the 2006 census, it boasts an impressive youthful population cutting across all major Nigerian tribes.
“Against this backdrop, Alimosho Day serves as a testament to our community’s strength, resilience, and vibrancy.”
