Fighting continued in Kaduna, Kaduna State on Wednesday as some residents of the state defied the 24-hour curfew imposed by the state government.
Explosions, gunshots and fighting were reported in some key areas of the state capital.
Among areas affected were Unguwan Yero, Unguwan Dosa and Malali around the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation office, sources told The Eagle Online.
The renewed fighting broke out as the National Security Adviser, General Owoeye Azazi, and the acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar, visited the city.
As at press time, security agents were still battling to restore normalcy.
The fight broke out after dreaded sect, Boko Haram, attacked three churches in the state on Sunday, resulting in the death of about 20 worshippers.
The reprisal attacks led to the death of over 80 persons as at Tuesday.
Between Tuesday and Wednesday, sources said about another 60 persons have been killed, bringing the number of those feared dead about 160.
