Ferrer plays down retirement reports

Spaniard David Ferrer insists he is not thinking about retirement as he prepares to play less tournaments in 2016.
The 33-year-old is still ranked inside the world’s top 10 but he has confirmed his playing schedule will change next year.
Ferrer is planning his tournaments around the 2016 Olympic Games and has revealed he may rest during the summer to make sure he is fit enough to represent Spain.
However, when asked about his future, he was quick to insist retirement is not on his mind.
He told reporters: “No. I’m world number seven. I am enjoying my tennis. Retirement is definitely not on my mind. If I continue to play good tennis and continue to be a top 10 player then there is no reason for me to retire. I want to continue because I love playing tennis.”
