Fayemi’s tribunal victory, good omen for APC–Oke

The Oyo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Akin Oke, on Monday said Governor Kayode Fayemi’s victory at the Ekiti State Governorship Election Tribunal was a good omen for the party.
The Chairman, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria in a telephone interview, said he was not surprised by the tribunal’s judgment.
Oke said: “I understand the decision to uphold our victory was unanimous and I was not really surprised because the people of that state had spoken through their votes.
“This is a very good omen for our party and signs of good things to come; we shall continue to put the people first in all our programmes as a party.”
Oke, however, appealed to all Nigerians to vote for APC candidates in all the forthcoming elections.
NAN reports that the three-man panel, in a unanimous judgment in Abuja, dismissed the suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Prof. Olusola Kolapo.
The tribunal held that the various allegations raised  by the petitioners were not proved as required by law, adding that worthless documents were dumped on the tribunal.
The Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Suleiman Bolaji Belgore, said that contrary to the claims of the petitioners, Fayemi was duly and lawfully returned as winner of majority votes by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
