The deputy governor of Oyo State, Rauf Olaniyan, has called on religious bodies and non-governmental organisations to channel their grievances to the government through civil means and continuous engagements.
Olaniyan made the call during the 1443 Hijrah Grand Rally organised by the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), held at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, over the weekend.
The deputy governor said the appropriate means to get things done or make demands on the government is to continue to engage and have discourse with those at the helm of affairs.
He charged the groups to make their demands known and give the government some time to meet the demands, and not to resort to fighting with the government.
“Be patient with the government as the burden and challenges that come with administration are much. Give some time for the changes you require to be effected,” he said.
Olaniyan also charged all to do good to their neighbours and all men they are in contact with.
