Nigeria Professional Football League newcomers, El-Kanemi Warriors, have emerged winners of the Q-Award for the third quarter this season.
The Q-Award is an initiative of the League Bloggers Awards aimed at rewarding top performing clubs in each quarter of the top flight this season.
Kano Pillars and Warri Wolves won the Q-Award in the first and second quarters of this season respectively.
For the third quarter, El-Kanemi won the Q-Award with two points clear of Bayelsa United for the 10 matchdays in review.
The third quarter ran between matchday 20 and 29, and El-Kanemi garnered 22 points after notching up seven wins, including an away win at Wikki Tourists and a draw at Akwa United.
El-Kanemi’s losses were at 3SC and Bayelsa United but that did not stop them from scoring the most goals, 18, for the period under review, while Enyimba had the meanest defence by conceding just four goals.
The fourth quarter for the Q-Award is already underway in the NPFL and will run from matchday 30 to 38.
