The management of the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti said on Saturday that its attention has been drawn to news reports of plans by the All Progressives Congress lawmakers in the state to hold plenary on the university campus.
The university said it will not allow this to happen.
It said in a statement on Saturday that the Ekiti State University premises was not open to political meetings, adding: “We state unequivocally that no legislative meeting was held on our campus as being speculated in some quarters and no such meetings would be allowed to hold in the university premises.”
The management of the institution said the university is a community of teachers and scholars and that it was committed to excellence in teaching, learning and research and should not be joined with unnecessary political issues.
The statement was signed by the Registrar of the university, Emmanuel Ogunyemi, who said the university remains apolitical and non partisan.
