The member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State in the House of Representatives, Dr Busayo Oluwole Oke (Osun-PDP), has congratulated his constituents and the Muslim community in the country on this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
He urged them to celebrate with modesty, be law-abiding and to show commitment, empathy and sacrifice, which he said the sacred season exemplifies.
In his goodwill message on Tuesday to commemorate the festival, Oke, how is also the chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, urged Muslim faithful and other Nigerians to imbibe the lessons of sacrifice, patience and faith as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim in the cause of his earthly journey.
He said: “At this trying period of our journey through nationhood, I urge you all to seize the opportunity which this season brings to us to promote peaceful co-existence among ourselves regardless of religion, ethnicity or political affiliation
“May the season be delightful and the moments therein be joyous for all of us and may the years ahead be fruitful for your home and family.”
The federal lawmaker expressed the optimism that with all hands on the deck to find lasting solutions to the multifaceted challenges confronting the country, Nigeria would regain its seeming lost glory in the comity of nations.
