Prince Henry Okojie, the husband of Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, has been attacked in his home in Edo State by men who had access, claiming to be policemen.
The attack on the Member representing Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency was carried out in the early hours on Friday.
According to a statement by his media aide, Michael Ihaza, Okojie, the Edo Central Senatorial District Coordinator for the All Progressives Congress in the governorship election on Saturday (today), escaped the attempt to kill him following the gallantry of the policemen attached to him.
Ihaza wrote on his Facebook page: “ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT 🤷♂️🤷♂️?
“I hope you must have heard of the Assassination attempt on PRINCE life this morning?
“Four men with a RIVERS STATE plate number on Lexus 470 who drove into his compound under the disguise of POLICE MEN tried to fire life out of the House Of Representatives member this morning!
“Thank God they failed and two apprehended by our GALLANT OFFICERS attached to him and the animals are already making confessions!
“Has it gotten to the point of making attempt to Assassinate Prince Odi Okojie?
“Hear this; remember all that you are doing now you were taught by someone!
“We know it better than you do
“If you guys choose to go brutal we know the game better than you do!
“Prince ODI OKOJIE is a No go area!
“Don’t make that mistake again!
“Our love for him is beyond Politics
“We have tried to campaign and sell our candidate with all within us except taking people’s lives and we expect you to reciprocate.
“Sell your candidate by all means also except a THREAT and ATTEMPT to LIFE!

“We strongly condemn this devilish act and we are asking everyone involved to desist from it because a hit back won’t be funny!
“Don’t ever try it again! Don’t!

“Let’s go and vote tomorrow quietly and whoever wins shall be congratulated!
