A mini bus driver has been burnt to death, while two others seriously injured in a crash that occurred in Enugu, the Enugu State capital, South East Nigeria.
The accident report said it occurred at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Junction along Enugu -Abakaliki Road, Emene, Thursday.
The deceased, who was driving on top speed, was said to have hit another vehicle, trying to cross the road with his vehicle somersaulting before going up in flames.
The Enugu State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Joseph Tobby, who confirmed the incident, said the bus driver was burnt to death when the accident happened.
He said two persons in the other vehicle sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital by his men.
“Somebody was crossing the road, the mini bus hit the person and somersaulted. It later burst into flames
“We had to call the fire service to come and extinguish the fire. The police and army were there too to help.
“Eventually, we had to take the injured to the hospital and deposited the dead to the morgue.
“We must find something to do about the incessant crashes along the Emene axis” Tobby narrated.
