European gold medallist, James Dasaolu, has set his sights on the European Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham to show that he is over the injuries that hampered him for the best part of this year.
Dasaolu won his first major title in 2014, claiming gold in the 100m at the European Championships in Zurich.
However, 2014 has not quite gone to plan with the sprinter’s progress halted all too often by injuries, leading some to question his ability to handle the rigours of elite level athletics.
He set the third fastest ever 60m time by a Briton in last year’s Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham but was injured in the process of clocking what was a world leading time.
He was forced to miss both the Commonwealth and World Indoor games as a result.
“I can’t wait to compete at the Sainsbury’s Indoor Grand Prix next year,” Dasaolu said.
“Training is going brilliantly and I believe I am over my injuries.”
The sprinter appears in confident mood as he bids to defend his crown and set up a year to remember in 2015.
