An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Thursday ordered that a man, Dolapo Lawal, be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly killing a teenager.
The 21-year-old suspect, whose residential address was not provided, is charged with murder by the Nigeria Police.
Magistrate Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti did not take the plea of Lawal for want in jurisdiction.
Amole-Ajimoti directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
She adjourned the case until July 14 for DPP advice.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Sergeant Philip Amusan, told the court that Lawal committed the offence on April 11 at about 2:10pm at Modina area, Ibadan.
Amusan said Lawal caused the death of Kehinde Alamu, 18, when he hit him on the chest.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 319 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
