The Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo-Mustafa, says President Muhammadu Buhari needs more time to realise his dream of taking Nigeria to the next level.
Barkindo-Mustafa made the remark when he received president Buhari and his entourage who paid him a courtesy visit at his palace on Thursday in Yola.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that president Buhari was in Yola for his re-election campaign rally.
He said a lot had been achieved during the current tenure of the Buhari-led administration.
He said: “The giant strides you have recorded in various fields of our endeavour such as economy, security and fight against corruption which remain the corner stone of your agenda would not had been possible if not for your resilience, focus, patience and love of the country.
“Mr President, there is no doubt that a lot has been achieved during your present tenure and certainly, you need more time to actualise your dream for a better Nigeria.
“Therefore, I call on all and sundry to rally round you and allow you to get to the NEXT LEVEL to enable you to consolidate on the various laudable programmes of your party.”
Responding, President Muhammadu Buhari thanked the people of Adamawa for the wonderful reception, saying his administration had started work long time ago on the neglected Mayo-Belwa – Jada -Ganye federal road.
Buhari said: “Also Gombe-Numan- Jalingo federal road is currently under construction as well as bridges destroyed by insurgents are also under rehabilitation.
“We are trying and we would continue to try and we will maintain focus on the projects we started to the final conclusion.”
The president said his administration had embarked on massive provision of social investment programmes such as Tradermoni and N-power which had been improving the living condition of millions of Nigerians.
