The Senate Panel mandated to grill the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on the killings in Benue State has commenced its work.
The Senate had on Wednesday mandated the panel to find out from Idris why no arrest had been made concerning the killings.
No fewer than 73 persons were killed on January 1, 2018 in Benue State by Fulani herdsmen.
The Senate panel, headed by Senator Abu Ibrahim, is, however, grilling Idris behind closed doors.
The grilling session started around 10:45am.
The committee is expected to submit the brief by the IGP to plenary on Tuesday.
