Nigeria Premier League campaigners, Enugu Rangers, have stopped Ejike Uzoenyi from joining up with Super Eagles for the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
The club said it was yet to get a letter from the Nigeria Football Federation to release the player.
Rangers Director of Media and Publicity, Foster Chime, hinted that the Flying Antelopes have not been officially notified by the NFF or Fifa about the development and will only allow their priced player go when they get a letter to that effect.
Uzoenyi trained with other Rangers players on Tuesday ahead of their rearranged premier league clash with El Kanemi Warriors.
“Uzoenyi trained with us on Tuesday but we are still to get words from the NFF or Fifa officially notifying us that he has been told to come,” Chime stated.
“We are happy for him but things must be done the proper way. We are very optimistic that he will get the letter very soon.”
Chime also hinted that it is very unlikely that Uzoenyi leaves for Brazil on Tuesday with arrangements for his trip yet to be concluded.
