The Nigerian Army on Wednesday replaced the Theatre Commander of the Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Attahiru Ibrahim, and immediately announced Major General Rogers Nicholas as his replacement.
Operation Lafiya Dole is at the head of the war against the Boko Haram insurgency.
The development was confirmed on Wednesday by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman.
Usman said: “It is true that a new commander has been appointed for Operation Lafiya Dole.
“I can confirm the appointment.”
Nicholas was the Chief of Logistics at the Army Headquarters in Abuja before his appointment.
