Echeng Eworo Echeng, the new Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State, has assumed office.
This was confirmed in a statement by Asinmi Butswat, Public Relations Officer of the command, on Monday.
It said that Echeng had served as Commander, Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe; Commissioner, Central Criminal Registry, among other deployments before becoming the Bayelsa State police helmsman.
The statement urged cooperation and partnership of good and well-meaning people of Bayelsa State to enable the new Commissioner to succeed in the discharge of his duties.
